The Very Verge of Light

NZ$65.00

The Very Verge of Light is a new monograph publish by Lett Thomas and Robert Heald Gallery, collating a selection of Millar’s recent exhibitions with an accompanying essay written by Dr. Peter Shand.

Judy Millar (b. 1957, Auckland) is one of New Zealand’s most internationally recognised contemporary artists, celebrated for her bold paintings that push the boundaries of abstraction and the painted surface. Her work investigates the relationship between the physical act of painting and the viewer’s perceptual space, often playing with scale, repetition, and digital interventions.

Millar has represented New Zealand at the 53rd Venice Biennale (2009), and her work has been widely exhibited across Europe, Australasia, and the United States. She has held residencies in Berlin, Venice, and Australia, and her works are held in major public collections including the Kunstmuseum St. Gallen (Swit- zerland), Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Te Papa Tongarewa, and QAGOMA (Brisbane), among others.
